The cedar patio surface is “floating” to allow for adequate drainage and for longevity of the deck framing material. It is also designed and built in 4’ x 4’ modules to allow ease of removal for seasonal maintenance of the roof covering. Cedar is chosen for its natural beauty and durable quality, and for continuity with the cedar patio and privacy screen below at ground level. Both material and decking pattern continues seamlessly from inside/out outside/in from the walkout interior to the patio. Design and detailing is minimal and clean lined- consistent with the modern design of the addition.
